Mandeville Bible Church
We are a Bible Church. Our motto is: “Where God’s Word Is Our Foundation.” We are dedicated to the expository preaching and teaching of the Bible, and to being “doers of the word, and not merely hearers” (James 1:22). Our ultimate priority, however, is not studying the Bible, but rather worshiping God. We give ourselves to the study and the application of the Bible, not for the sake of simply knowing the Bible, but for the sake of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ, who is revealed throughout the pages of Scripture. “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36). You are invited to come worship with us on Sunday mornings. We are located in Old Mandeville, just two blocks from Lake Pontchartrain.

2024-11-17 What Are We Learning?by Pastor Chris Berg
Scripture Reference: Titus 3:12-1512 I am planning to send either Artemas or Tychicus to you. As soon as one of them arrives, do your best to meet me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to stay there for the winter. 13 Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos with their trip. See that they are given everything they need. 14 Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others; then they will not be unproductive.
15 Everybody here sends greetings. Please give my greetings to the believers—all who love us.

2024-11-10 Avoid Timewastersby Pastor Chris Berg
Scripture Reference: Titus 3:9-119 Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time. 10 If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them. 11 For people like that have turned away from the truth, and their own sins condemn them.

2024-11-03 The Gospel: A Poemby Pastor Chris Berg
Scripture Reference: Titus 3:4-84 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

2024-10-27 Godly Citizenshipby Pastor Chris Berg
Scripture Reference: Titus 3:1-33 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

2024-10-20 All About God's Graceby Pastor Chris Berg
Scripture Reference: Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. 14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
15 You must teach these things and encourage the believers to do them. You have the authority to correct them when necessary, so don’t let anyone disregard what you say.

2024-10-13 Being Christian in Unjust Circumstancesby Pastor Chris Berg
Scripture Reference: Titus 2:9-109 Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
In this thought-provoking episode, we delve into the complexities of identifying and defining a Bible church, specifically focusing on the philosophy of Bible exposition. The discussion highlights the importance of teaching scripture in its original context to truly understand the intent of the author, and how this approach can sometimes challenge us to address uncomfortable topics.
The episode explores the teachings of Paul to the churches in Crete, particularly his instructions to Christian slaves on how to live godly lives in an unjust world. With historical insights into the prevalence of slavery in the Roman Empire and its relevance today, we reflect on how Christians should conduct themselves when facing unfair treatment.
Listeners are encouraged to consider how to behave in unjust situations, emphasizing submission, pleasing authority, and maintaining trustworthiness without resorting to arguments or pilfering. The episode concludes with a reminder of the higher purpose Christians are called to, adorning the doctrine of God through their actions and focusing on pleasing the ultimate authority, the Lord.

2024-09-22 Teach The Youngerby Pastor Chris BergScripture Reference: Titus 2:3-63 Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. 4 These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, 5 to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. 6 In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely.

Where God’s Word Is Our Foundation
You are invited to come worship with us on Sunday mornings.
We are located in Old Mandeville, just two blocks from Lake Pontchartrain.
We are a group of believers who hold to the historical faith, and who believe that the Bible teaches certain basic truths, including:
- The virgin birth of Christ
- The full deity and humanity of Christ
- The substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection of Christ
- The physical return of Christ
- The spiritual lostness of the human race
- Salvation by faith alone in Christ alone
- The inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture
We are an independent, elder-led church. We are not affiliated with any denomination, and we are governed by our own by-laws.
We are a Bible Church. Our motto is: “Where God’s Word Is Our Foundation.” We are dedicated to the expository preaching and teaching of the Bible, and to being “doers of the word, and not merely hearers” (James 1:22).
